This is a free course funded through the Liverpool City Council “Our Liverpool” project

This course aims to:

Bring those involved in helping and supporting asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants together.

Develop an understanding of working with this client group

Identify ways of helping and supporting

Share knowledge and expertise with other members of the group.

Course content includes:

Boundaries in a supporting role

Active Listening

Cultural difference

Risk Management

Confidentiality and limits

Assumptions and judgements

Signposting and referrals

Self Care

Empathy

Working with interpreters

Self Awareness

Helping a client talk about their concerns
