Thanks to the National Lottery Community fund, Compass is now able to offer bespoke support for adults on Merseyside who have experienced childhood sexual abuse or exploitation. The support will be available initially for one to one sessions to work through a tailored programme of support that enables people to move from not just surviving the abuse but being able to thrive in the present. This programme is a 21 Step programme of recovery that can be adapted to individual needs as they work through the programme.
We are able to offer up to 24 counselling sessions on a weekly basis. Each session would take place at the same time slot with the same counsellor and last for 50 minutes. The project started in February 2020 for one to one support and, once fully established, will then extend to be available also as a group programme.
At present due to Covid-19 we are limited to offering a reduced service of telephone counselling only.
