Thanks to the National Lottery Community fund, Compass is now able to offer bespoke support for adults on Merseyside who have experienced childhood sexual abuse or exploitation. The support will be available for one to one counselling sessions. You would work through a handbook of support which has been specifically designed for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. This would potentially enable you to move from, not just surviving the abuse but being able to thrive in the present. This handbook of recovery is adapted to meet individual needs and the pace and direction is always led by you, not the counsellor.
We are able to offer up to 24 counselling sessions on a weekly basis. Each session would take place at the same time slot with the same counsellor and last for 50 minutes. The project started in February 2020 for one to one support.
At present due to Covid-19 we are limited to offering a service of telephone and video counselling with a reduced service of face to face sessions.
