During these difficult times for all of us as we deal with the ongoing situation with Covid-19 it has been estimated that charities are expected to lose up to £4 billion in income during a three month period. This along with the fact that social distancing rules out numerous large scale fundraising events, such as the London Marathon which was due to happen this weekend on Sunday 26th, means that charities all over the UK, will struggle especially due to a potential increase in demand of the services that they provide.
This is true of Compass itself, as we are no longer able to offer face to face counselling but we have instead turned our attentions to being able to offer support by telephone. We have recently been awarded two grants by local providers to help us achieve this transition, and we just want to say a huge thank you to the Steve Morgan Foundation and to the Community Foundation for Merseyside. The grants awarded have allowed Compass to purchase equipment for our staff to work from home as well assisted in able to provide both support and telephone counselling to our existing clients.
From all of us a Compass, – Thank you! If anyone else would like to help us reach the people of Merseyside, we would ask that you contact ourselves or look to our local giving page.
